Lake Formosa is a small neighborhood North of Downtown Orlando. It is largely known for the design and antique businesses that once filled the industrial warehouses in the business district along Orange Avenue. There is a new development that will change the landscape of this business district called The Yard. It is a mixed use development including residential apartments and retail space. It is a controversial development but it is sure to add more space for the trendy businesses that have been recently filling this corridor.
The neighborhood was originally established in 1911 and therefore many bungalows of this era remain. The Orlando Urban trail cuts right through the neighborhood and it's an easy walk to Ivanhoe Village and Mills50 Mainstreet's shopping and dining as well as the Orlando Museum of Art and Orlando Science Center.
